GUILT and HONEY

Together in the Wind

Words - Nina Storey
Music - Nina Storey, Robert Gilliland

The other night as I lay dreaming in the dark I felt I'd been abandoned by the world and all its charm. Restless through the evening I cried myself to sleep searching for some meaning to a truth I couldn't keep. Then I woke up with the sunrise, forced myself to stumble down from my garden in the sky reaching out to touch the ground. I wandered in a fogless haze form morning until noon, distraught over my failures over everything I knew. I imagined I was crazy and the walls were caving in, I couldn't handle my neuroses I was drowning from within. Then I found this hidden letter amidst a scattering of bills, tore it open in my madness to see what I'd been willed. Yet the words I found inside softly typed across the page stood with dignity and beauty like writings of a sage. Frozen were my thoughts as my eyes tumbled down the page, relinquishing my anger to the words upon which I gazed. As I ended my mind grew silent and as I set the paper down I realized what I'd lost had already been found. Now I thank the nameless author who gave me back my smile. He helped me rediscover simple pleasures like a child. Imagining the contours of his mid-stepped silhouette or the earth spinning beneath him while suspended in his steps. I'll know some day I will find him and repay him for his gift, return the thoughts he gave to me walk together in the wind.
